“I’ve Been to 69 Countries in Total!”
Miriam is from Finland and has lived in ten different countries. She’s currently on the 3 month exchange programme after volunteering with Rosemary at the very beginning two years ago. She was interested in being able to do volunteer work at the same time as her own personal development. She can speak 6 different languages and is known for lighting up the whole room with her smile!
What one thing do you do every day or most days for your own wellbeing?
I try to exercise everyday because that makes me feel good. It makes me sleep and eat better, be a better person, have more patience with others. It brings me more balance in my life in general when I can move my body in any way.
And for the wellbeing of others or your community?
My plan is to write and finish the book I’m working on. It fulfils me to help others, I’m always trying to find ways to do this. I do this by raising awareness on certain topics.
When you were younger what did you imagine that you would do when you grew up?
When I was 6 I wanted to become a world traveller so I guess that came true because I’ve been to 69 countries in total now!
What inspires you to live your optimal way of life?
For myself, to exercise makes me feel good but the reason my optimal way of life is important because it makes me whole enough to be able to help others. If I’m feeling good and energised and living optimally then it means I have the energy to positively contribute to other people’s lives.
What makes you feel connected to nature?
I feel like when you are in nature it always grounds you. Nature helps you to understand that you’re just one piece of the puzzle and part of everything. It puts everything into the right perspective. We are part of a bigger entity.
Which one book has most influenced the way that you live?
How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be by Jack Canfield.
Is there one thing that you could never travel without?
What are you grateful for today?
Living surrounded by so many inspiring people who teach me something new everyday.
Tell me something you are proud of:
Of being curious, always wanting to understand things. I have a curiosity to learn, it’s taken me far.
Sum up your experience of Rosemary in three words:
Empowering. Challenging. Fulfilling.
